West Nile Virus in Fulton County

A recent news article by CBS 46 has announced that mosquitoes found in the Fulton County area have tested positive for the West Nile Virus. They also claim that August is the peak season for the West Nile virus so we would like to contribute in offering our own tips for reducing your exposure to mosquitoes:

  • Make sure to eliminate as much standing water from your yard as possible. Even a bottle cap full of water is enough water for mosquitoes to start breeding in.
  • Remove any clutter in your drains and gutters to prevent standing water from accumulating during storms.
  • Keep an eye on low areas in your backyard and on your deck where standing water may form.
  • If you are out in your yard doing yard work, protect yourself with long sleeves and long pants.
  • Keep yourself and your family covered with mosquito repellant to reduce mosquito exposure.
