Meet a Joe: Chaunsey Jackson
Meet Chaunsey Jackson around the office he is known as, “The Expressive Tech.” Chaunsey is one of the newer technicians at Mosquito Joe of North Atlanta. After trying out various jobs, he decided that Mosquito Joe was his perfect fit.
Here are some fun facts about Chaunsey:
What is your favorite part of the position?
Honestly, my favorite part is being outside. I love nature and being in nature. I’ve worked in an office before, and I mean it was okay, but it wasn’t for me. There is mental stimulation, but not much physical stimulation. I like this job more because it lets me be more active and I enjoy that.
What led you to work for Mosquito Joe?
Well, I used to be an Uber driver. I ended up picking up Charles one day (Charles is one of our technicians here at Mosquito Joe of North Atlanta) and we were talking during the ride. By the time I dropped him off at home he had given me his job information and told me to apply. Before I pulled off, I remember the wind blowing and knocking the leaves off a cherry blossom tree, it was so beautiful. I took it as a sign, and so I applied for the job.
What is your favorite Mosquito Joe tagline?
My favorite tagline would have to be, “Itching for a solution.” It’s just funny to me and I feel like you can apply it to so many things.
What has been your funniest experience while working here?
One day, Me and Charles were headed to treat a house. This customer wanted to meet us before we treated the home so, Charles went to ring the doorbell. I saw a little boy answer the door and then I must have turned to get my equipment because I didn’t see what exactly happened next. Next thing I know, Charles is running right toward the van, screaming “open the door, move over!” There were two big dogs behind him, chasing him! I guess they must have gotten out when the little boy opened the door. I didn’t realize what was going on until he was in the van. I laughed all the way to the next property once I figured it out.
What has been your scariest experience while working here?
I went to treat a property a day after it rained. I noticed the house was on a hill, but I didn’t think about it too much. The customer had a patch of pine straw in the yard. I went to walk over it and ended up sliding. I realized I couldn’t stop myself from falling so, I tried to just stay as balanced as possible and managed to slide all the way down the hill on the pine straw.
